ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION

  • SPRING DANCE INFO
    TCMS is having it's annual Spring Dance on April 27, 7-9 PM, in the cafeteria. Tickets cost $3. Dress is semi-formal (church/business dress) and in good taste (no short skirts or spaghetti straps). TCMS staff will chaperone the event and only current TCMS students may attend. Please be prompt to pick up your student at 9 PM.

    Below is the TCMS testing schedule for GMATS.  Be sure to get your student to school on time, and be sure they get plenty of sleep the night before.  We have prepared diligently all year and are expecting good results.  Please assist us to insure a successful testing period.

  • BASEBALL NEWS
    The TCMS tennis team finished the season with a 11-10 loss to Marion Co., yesterday.  The team played well and took the game to extra innings, but Marion prevailed with 4 runs in the bottom of the 10th inning.  The Vikings finished the season with a 5-4 record.
  • CONGRATULATIONS BAND
    Congratulations to the TCMS Band and Mr. Driskell on their excellent performance at LGPE competition, hosted by Jordan Vocational High School, Columbus, GA, last Friday.  They put in a tremendous amount of work in preparation of the event.  
  • Spring Sports update
    The track team had their first meet at Upson Lee and finished 2nd overall.  Jarell Brown was 1st in the shot put.  4x100 team of Jay Floyd; Lontae Davis; Turner Layfield; Jarell Brown placed 2nd; Cameron Talton was 3rd in the shot put and 4th in discus.  Jarell Brown 3rd in 200M; Turner Layfield 4th in 200M; Delonta Davis 3rd in 400M; Grace Layfield 3rd in 1-mile and 3rd in 800M.  Great job team!

     

    The tennis team defeated Americus-Sumter on Tuesday @ the Taylor County Recreation Courts.  The boys team won all 14 matches, while the girls won 11 and lost 5.  Elizabeth Dingler and Quanishia Dixon won both of their matches.

     

    The baseball teams defeated Chatt-Co in a double header last Thursday @ TayCo, and then they defeated Stewart Co. away on Monday, 20-0.

  • BASEBALL & TENNIS WINS
    On Monday, March 5, the TCMS baseball and tennis teams performed very well vs. competition.  

     

    The baseball team defeated Marion Co. by a score of 8-6.  Cody Harris and Levi Pounds had a stellar day on the mound, while Rhett Harris manned duties behind the plate.  Cody Harris also went 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and triple, while Nathan Patterson had an "in the park" grand-slam!!!  The team will be back in action on Thursday at home vs. Chatt-Co in a double-header.  Game time is 4 PM.

     

    The TCMS Netters had a great day at Stratford Academy, Macon, GA.  Stratford is known for being the powerhouse in the middle Georgia area.  TCMS played 30 matches and ended up splitting matches.  Although Stratford dominated at the top of their line-up, TCMS dominated the middle making for exciting matches.

     

    Gracie James & Torie Green won the #1 doubles match.

    Trey Windham & Seth Barrow won 2 of their doubles matches.

    Abbie Acree & Emma Dixon won 2 of their doubles matches.

    All players played multiple matches and won at least one match.

     

    The tennis team will be back in action on Wednesday at home vs. Marion Co., 3:30 PM, Taylor County Parks and Recreation.
